FSO Project

Entry Level Pathways

Commencement date: Quarter 1, 2025

End date: Quarter 4, 2026

Project overview

This project will define up to ten entry-level pathways in the technology sector, outlining the knowledge, skills, and attributes required for each.

By validating these pathways with industry, we will establish a shared understanding of digital skills needs to guide the vocational education and training system.

The insights will inform the design of qualifications, starting with the ICT Training Package. The project will deliver a data-driven framework for employers, provide clear direction for training providers, and support diverse learners in accessing meaningful tech careers.

It champions a ‘skills-first’ approach to recruitment and training, improving workforce readiness and strengthening industry engagement.

Timeline

Quarter 3, 2025 – Define and develop entry-level pathways and validate with industry.

Quarter 2, 2025 – Promote resources and deliver guidance on the use of entry-level pathways.

Consultation and feedback

This project will engage a broad range of stakeholders, including training providers, industry representatives, and unions, to ensure the consultation process addresses diverse needs and perspectives.
